With Pancake day this Tuesday, I thought I’d share some of my favourite spots in York to get some seriously delicious pancakes!
Brew and Brownie – of course this one is a given. Everyone knows their famous American pancake stacks are the real deal. However don’t forget if the queues massive, then head two doors down to their bakeshop, where they also serve the pancakes on a smaller menu!

Spring Espresso – another coffee shop in York offering delicious pancakes. Known mainly for their award-wining coffee, their pancakes are also worthy of high praise. From banana and nutella to fruit and yoghurt, you’re definitely not going to be disappointed.

Robinsons – maybe an underrated café, being slightly out of the city centre (on Bishopthorpe Road), but nonetheless, Robinson’s pancakes are worth the small journey. Large portions, great atmosphere and fresh, local ingredients – you can’t go wrong.

The Ivy – If you’re after a memorable pancake experience, then book yourself a table at The Ivy. Fabulous service and fancy food, their pancakes are a real treat. A breakfast at The Ivy can only guarantee a good start to your day.

Coffea – this small, independent cafe of Gillygate is one to watch. This cosy café has a couple of pancake options on their scrumptious menu. Check out their vegan options, which never disappoint.

And remember, if your feeling adventurous, you can always make you’re own!
